| In the mountains to the west of Katmandu, in wonderful nature and peaceful atmosphere lies the Osho meditation center. The center was founded by Swami Arun, a close friend and companion of Osho. Although he felt drawn very much to the mountains, the master himself could never live in the Himalayas for a longer time. Therefore he gave the order to his friend the order to found in Nepal an international center for all followers and interested in his wisdom. Swami Arun searched for the perfect space and in the hills of the Nagarjuna forest he finally found it. There where the Buddhist holy Nagarjuna meditated and attained enlightenment, the Nepalese Osho center should originate. Thanks to the untiring efforts of Swami Arun and all Nepalese followers of Osho the place blossoms now since 1990. A big meditation hall was built; a wonderful sculpture garden was laid out affectionately. The mind and the power of Osho are widely felt at this place – not least through the kept mortal remains in the shrine 'Osho Samadhi' shrine you are aware of his presence. |
