Monastic Hotel Sessoriana

This really unique and noble monastic hotel of the Benedictines lies in an archaeological complex consisting of the basilica of the holy cross in Jerusalem and the ruins of the last Roman Emperors residence. In the 4th century Helena, the mother of Emperor Konstantin, resided at this place. She transformed the imperial reception hall into a Christian church and kept in there the relics of the passion of Christ. The historically significant complex since then has seen many faces and has gone through many style epochs. Lastly the basilica was converted in the 18th century to a baroque church which you can still admire today. In the old Roman amphitheater lies today the lovely laid out monastic garden of the Benedictines!

The monastic hotel is divided into two wings: 'Convention wing' is on the right side of the basilica and stretches out over three levels. Here are the parts of the old monastery complex, such as the hall and the refectory, with high ceilings and a lot of space. The rooms in this wing all belong to the category 'superior' and offer Internet access (W-Lan).

In 'Aurelian wing' which is on the left site of the basilica, are the rooms of the standard category. From here you have a beautiful view on the old Roman buildings of the Constantine Era.

All rooms (standard and superior) are furnished very tastefully and nobly and offer a high comfort: Bathroom with shower and blow-dryer, air-conditioning, satellite TV, phone, minimart, safe. The rooms vary in size and typology (SR, DR, 3 bed, 4 bed, junior suites, and suites).

With the glass lift you reached furthermore the comfortable roof terrace of the house from which you have a spectacular view over the roofs of Rome and the standing out places of interest.

The Monastic Hotel Sessoriana lies centrally in the heart of the town not far from Colosseum and the central station of Rome (Termini).
